Hiranyakashipu was a tyrant who despised Lord Vishnu. But fate had a twist — his own son, Prahalad, turned out to be an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. This drove Hiranyakashipu furious. How could his own son worship his greatest enemy?

In his obsession to kill his own son, Hiranyakashipu devised a wicked plan. He ordered his sister Holika (who had the boon of being fireproof) to sit in fire with Prahalad in her lap. The plan was simple — Holika would emerge unscathed while Prahalad would be burnt to death.

But how could the Lord let his devoted child be harmed? Divine justice intervened.

On this Full Moon, when the fire was lit, Holika was burned to ashes while Prahalad walked out completely unharmed. The boon backfired — because Holika misused it for evil.

This powerful event signifies the victory of devotion over hatred, truth over illusion, and divine protection over malice.
