Janmashtami is celebrated as the appearance day of Lord Krishna as the 8th child of Devaki in the prison of his maternal uncle king Kamsa.
JYOTISH INSIGHTS: Lord Krishna was born on Ashtami (8th) Tithi (lunar day).Lord Rama was born on Navami (9th) Tithi (Lunar day).
I have always associated the birth of Lord Krishna with the 8th HOUSE and birth of Lord Rāma with the 9th HOUSE.
8th house is the house of change and transformation and secrets and hidden things. Lord Krishna was born on 8th Tithi (Janma Ashtami). His entire life purpose was to bring about radical change and transformation in the society in Dwāpar Yuga.
On the other hand, lord Rāma, born on the 9th Tithi (Rām Navami), his birth in Tretā Yuga was all about 9th house matters – establishing Dharma, honoring the Gurus, long distance travels etc.
